The victim of his own anger, a child (prince) is a musician in Minneapolis on his rise with his band, Revolution, who avoided a tumultuous home life through music. While trying to avoid making the same mistakes as his triculent father (Clarence Williams III), the kid moves in the club scene and a rocky relationship with the enchanting singer, Apollonia Kotero. But another musician, Morris (Morris Day), seems to steal baby light – and his girlfriend.
